Today I had an urge to get the dining table all set for Easter weekend. My parents are coming to town and I’m excited to show them all the projects we have been working on. I decided I was going to run to the store to buy some nice greenery, when I realized the hubby drove my car to the gym. His is stick shift, so I was stranded. I really need to learn to drive a manual.
I was sitting there, a bit bummed, when I realized I had plenty of greenery right outside, from the overgrown willow tree just sprouting its spring leaves! Out I went with my scissors, looking like a crazy lady trimming all the little tendrils. There is one spot where it falls over the walkway to the front door that needs to be tamed in order for people to walk up without getting whiplash. So the tree needed a haircut, and I wanted greenery – win, win!
I took some of the tendrils and made mini wreaths to go around the eggs, while others were plopped in vases or bunched at the stem of the candleholders. I found the milk glass vases and candleholders at the thrift store on Sunday – all of them for $10!
The eggs are hard shells with the whites/yolks blown out of them. Rinsed off, dried, and then sharpied with names for placeholders. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pictures! It was fun to throw together.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter holiday, whatever you are doing. Hopefully we start to get some warmer weather, too!
